TRANSCRIPT

Hi there, aspiring creators! Welcome to my channel. I am Avic Caparas, and today I want to talk to those of you who are shy, camera-shy, and who want to turn their experience into some passive income.

Okay, I know what you are thinking: 'Do I have experience in podcasting?' You can say I have more experience in repurposing because I have turned my YouTube live streams and interviews into podcast episodes. I call my podcast 'The Decisive Life.' Fortunately, the all-in-one business platform that I use, which is Kajabi, syndicates its podcast to Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and Google Podcasts. By the way, Google Podcasts will close in 2024 and will be replaced by YouTube Music. In any case, you still have almost nothing to do but record your audio, and Kajabi will do the rest. You don't have to upload each episode to Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, or Spotify because Kajabi will do it for you with a simple upload of each episode to the Kajabi podcast.

And if you invest your time in podcasting, will it be here to stay? Fortunately, it's just beginning. It seems that around 2022, podcasting doubled its subscribers when it comes to listening in the car. And yes, you can earn revenue in podcasting. There are free and paid podcasts. So, if I were to show you how to create a podcast product, would you implement it immediately? I hope so. So let's go through the steps right now.

Let's go through the different steps to create a podcast within Kajabi. Then I will also use ChatGPT for the very short podcast description. So, let's begin. When you are logged into your Kajabi account, open the product tab from the dashboard, select 'Podcast,' and click 'Get Started.' Select 'Create a New Podcast' and then select 'Continue.' Follow the prompt by giving your new podcast a title. Let's say 'YouTube Essentials.' The host is me, Avic Caparas. The description, let's now go quickly to ChatGPT and tell him to give me a description for a podcast that is entitled 'YouTube Essentials,' really directed to women who want to share their expertise.

I copied and pasted and initially removed 'women' from the title, but now I am putting it back because we are simply in demo mode. I am not creating that product really. Then choose 'Private' as your podcast availability type and click 'Continue.' Select your podcast language and podcast category. I said English and then 'Education: How-To.' I'm showing you all the different categories here that you can select. Then choose whether you would like your podcast to appear in an episodic or serial way. With episodic, it means you will order your podcast episodes starting from the most recent ones. Serial will order your podcast episodes from the oldest to the newest and will split them up by seasons. I choose episodic.

Customize your podcast appearance by choosing a primary color and an accent color and uploading a thumbnail image. Initially, I thought I could skip it, but it did not allow me, so I now go to the Canva app to create a thumbnail image. For now, I don't have a photo of me with a microphone, so let us use AI to put a mic in the image.

Let's add payment through PayPal, and here you will see how Kajabi integrates PayPal, unlike another provider that I used before, which is Mastermind. I really had to call PayPal and spent two weeks trying to get to a person, but I was not able to integrate PayPal. Here, it just took seconds. It's the same with ClickFunnels. Also, it was very easy. So, ClickFunnels and Kajabi, it was very easy for me to integrate PayPal as the one that will process my payments. As for the pricing, let's skip it for now and come back to it when we already have an offer and a price.

Now, since we don't have an episode yet, the basic details I can tell you about analytics. The podcast analytics tab will display data for total downloads. In my case, I have 24 episodes and 352 downloads. The apps being used to stream my podcast, it seems I have more downloads on Google Podcasts than in Apple Podcasts. And then the devices that are being used to stream your episodes, you will see here. In my analytics, it showed that my subscribers use their desktop more than their smartphones. The analytics will show which device operating systems are being used to stream your episodes. iOS is more used than Windows, Android, or Mac. The top countries: the US first, Singapore second, and the third is the Philippines

The analytics will also show the top 10 episodes by downloads. What else would you need? Of course, you need a microphone. But if you have an iPhone, you have Voice Memo. There, you can just speak to your iPhone. Of course, Android would have its own built-in recorder.

So there you have it, folks. With Kajabi and a little bit of courage, you can be a podcaster. You can monetize your knowledge and overcome stage fright. Remember that the world is waiting to hear your unique perspective. Now go out there and make a mark in the podcasting world.
